SMS Messaging FAQ

- How many characters can my SMS have? A: Each SMS message can have up to 160 characters to be counted as 1 message. Any additional characters above this will count as additional messages.
- I have uploaded my bulk SMS campaign and send it however no SMS messages were sent. Is there a problem? A. When uploading SMS messages into the Faxem Internet SMS service you must format your SMS excel list to have the mobile numbers in international format. For example 61411111111. - What do I need to do to ensure my SMS campaign complies with the Spam Act? A. All commercial SMS message must include a unsubscribe option in order to comply with the Spam Act. You must also ensure that the recipients of your message have in fact consented to receive information from you, you have cleared identified who you are and provided an option to unsubscribe.
- What will be the Sender ID when sending SMS via Internet SMS? A: You can determine the Sender ID when entering your Single SMS or Bulk SMS into the system. You can either enter your own mobile number or also your company name.
- Can I personalize my Bulk SMS? A: Yes, you can include the name of the recipient in the SMS if you have included it in your SMS excel spreadsheet/text file. Please see Internet SMS Bulk SMS Instructions.
