Reminder.... Fax legislation changes
As announced last month, on the 1st June 2010 the Australian Government amended the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 to allow Australian fax numbers to be entered. If your business sends fax marketing... it is important you are aware of this legislation and how you act on this.
What does this mean for your business? What are you obligations?
The new legislation prohibits the sending of unsolicited marketing faxes to a fax number on the Register, unless the recipient has consented to receive the fax.
Businesses can still send fax communication, however they must 'wash' their lists via the Do Not Call 'Telemarketer Access Portal' prior to sending.
To 'wash' or check your numbers against the register you need to:
1. Create an account through the 'Telemarketer Access Portal' at www.donotcall.gov.au
2. Purchase a subscription; and
3. Submit your contact fax lists for checking again the register.

So it’s fair to say that a lot of people have a lot to say about what constitutes a 'good subject line'. This is because Subject Lines rank amongst the top ways to ensure your email is opened!
But what exactly does a good Subject Line look like? Is it short, or long? Does it include company branding? Is it personalized for the recipient? Does it use words like “free” and “hurry”?
